The Pu`uloa Strategic Partnership
The Pu`uloa Strategic Partnership is a group of stakeholders currently involved in natural area and cultural resource management, as well as community engagement, along the Pearl Harbor shoreline.
Initiated by Hui o Ho`ohonua in August of 2019, the Pu`uloa Strategic Partnership seeks to build collaboration that enhances the capacity of all participants to achieve our restoration and management goals. Together, our work is vital to restoring the region to abundance.
To date participating partners have collaborated on high school-graduate student research engagement, native plant propagation, equipment sharing and the development of best practices as 27 acres of invasive mangrove are being removed in makai section of the Honouliuli watershed - work that also involves recovering integrated Hawaiian food systems that historically provided fish, kalo and other staple foods. Pu`uloa Strategic Partners have collaborated on grants bringing in just under one million dollars in funding to support our efforts. Click here to learn more

Mr. Rompel, local resident and restauranteur, has generously provided free Dominos pizza to our volunteers since August 2016! A donation worth tens of thousands of dollars! He and his ʻohana have also provided funding for key equipment and a temporary paid crew to help us clear the Honouliuli Stream during the COVID pandemic when it was not safe to host large community groups. Weʻre grateful to his Kunia Dominos team for feeding our hard working hui! Mahalo nui loa for this generous support! |
