We Invite You To Adopt-a-Plot at Kapapapuhi Point Park!
Individuals, ʻOhana, Clubs, Businesses, Schools and more - anyone with a desire to Mālama Pu`uloa can help maintain and restore sites! Participants can choose the site and size of their plot and the times of their visits! Once adopted, we ask that you visit at least twice a year to remove opala and invasive plants from your site...and hopefully help us grow and plant native species. Weʻre also opening up opportunities to adopt a plot at our Hui Alaloa Garden Project sites in Waipahu and Pearl City! Reach out to our staff to see how we can support your efforts by emailing us at malamapuuloa@gmail.com

The Sea Cadets, Battleship Missouri Division adopted the entire makai section of the Honouliuli Stream and began their amazing work in April, 2022. Weʻre honored to be working with students that have already shown such incredible work ethic!
Weʻre honored that marines would come all the way from Kaneohe to be a part of our Mālama Pu`uloa Program - adopted the entire Niholo Loko I`a (fishpond) and help us recover it from invasive mangrove. After starting in February, 2022, their progress has been inspirational!
Thanks to the efforts of Dr. Anuschka Faucci, several kumu and students from LCC are a key part of Mālama Pu`uloa. Dr. Faucciʻs students have helped develop citizen science programs, Dr. Daniela Dutraʻs students help us grow native plants and weʻre so excited that students from the Kahua Hoʻomau Ola will be developing long-term connections with Kapapapuhi!
Hawai`i Tech Academy, with help from amazing KUPU Environmental Education Leaders has been doing amazing work through our Adopt-a-Plot program. HTA is our first school to become adopters and theyʻre still growing strong, working both at the shoreline and Nihola Loko I`a.
The KHS Ho`ōla Leadership Academy has been helping us Mālama Pu`uloa since we started, developing as alaka`i (trusted leaders who lead by example). They have mentored younger students, run activities on campus, grown native plants for two of our projects and in 2023, they Adopted Pekaneʻs Loko I`a - part of our Honouliuli Restoration Project. Weʻre so grateful to Kumu Maile, KUPU Environmental Education Leaders like Nayma and Kelsey and of course, the amazing young leaders of the Ho`ōla Leadership Academy!
