Young Elementary Teachers from UH Manoa Visit Kapapapuhi
Led by their kumu, Rosela Balinbin-Santos, 11 enthusiastic teachers in training from University of Hawaii, Manoa visited Kapapapuhi. The group focuses on elementary education on the Leeward Coast, and they are learning how to connect keiki to place-based learning. This wonderful group was up for everything from learning and acting out mo`olelo, pulling up invasive mangrove, growing native plants and more. Our youth are in good hands when young leaders like these want to become teachers - and are supported by their kumu and the community.
