HOH808 and Rep Ty Cullen Pass Legislation Recognizing an Annual Observance of Mālama Pu`uloa Month6/1/2018 In May of 2018 our collaboration with Representative Ty Cullen resulted in the passing of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 214! Several of our student and community members were instrumental in the passing of this resolution as they submitted testimony in favor of this ground-breaking legislation . The resolution reads "RECOGNIZING THE THIRTY-DAY PERIOD FROM THE LAST SATURDAY IN SEPTEMBER TO THE LAST SUNDAY IN OCTOBER AS MALAMA PU`ULOA MONTH". Our first observance in September of 2018 was a small affair with cultural protocols and blessing included on a community work day. For the observance this year, HOH808 is planning a large community event at Kapapapuhi Point Park on October 26th - mark your calendars!
